Yesterday, Wes Anderson released the first trailer for his upcoming movie The Grand Budapest Hotel, which lands in theaters on March 7—and we can’t stop watching it on loop. The two-and-a-half-minute clip manages to pack in each and every one of Anderson’s cinematic signatures, from incredible set design to slapstick action to a sense of kooky nostalgia.
Filmmaker Wes Anderson (Moonrise Kingdom, The Royal Tenenbaums) is a self-described Anglophile and his highly anticipated forthcoming film The Grand Budapest Hotel is topped up with British (and Irish) actors. We could list them off here but this seems like a good time to play, “Spot the Brit.” We’ll give you a hint, Ralph Fiennes, who is seen in the top spot, is British. So, there’s one! The Grand Budapest Hotel, which will have to hold us over until it’s released in March. The movie follow Ralph Fiennes as Gustave H, a concierge at a fancy hotel who befriends a lobby boy. It’s got an incredible cast, including Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, and of course, Bill Murray.. The movie is slow, there are scenes with long cuts, and sometimes there is nothing going on for 1 minute or more.
